As the weather starts to cool off and the summer comes to an end, there are a few things to keep in mind to get your home ready for fall and continue abiding by our HOA Community Guidelines.

Perhaps the most obvious tip is to keep up with lawn care– raking leaves and making sure to collect them to keep your lawn and our neighborhood clean. Don’t forget to check and clean your gutters and window wells to keep drainage systems running smoothly! Experts recommend cleaning gutters and window wells a minimum of twice a year, and the fall is an important season for this. As leaves fall, and it’s easier to see what’s going on with your plants, this is also a good opportunity to trim back and clean up any dead branches and overgrown areas.

Other lawn care tips for the fall season include cutting grass a little shorter– about 3 inches– and considering aerating your lawn after the heavy summer rainy season. Fertilizing is also a great idea in the fall to help your grass stay healthy through the winter. One tip is to try mowing a few fallen leaves into the lawn since they’re a great source of natural nutrients and fertilizer.

Pool season and other summer outdoor recreational activities are also coming to a close, so be sure to appropriately clean and prepare pools for the colder months and put away summer recreational equipment.

Finally, we know the fall is a fun season for holiday decor and celebrations but would like to remind you to keep festivities tasteful and respectful of your neighbors to make sure the fall holiday season is enjoyable for everyone. Decorations that may have extra light and sound should be on timers or turned off at appropriate nighttime hours. Our HOA Community Guidelines are about working together to keep our neighborhood a beautiful, safe, and enjoyable community. We’re excited to embark on this new season together!
