Applying for approval on projects to improve your property is an important responsibility of being in the Douglas Downs Homeowner’s Association. This process is a helpful way to lay out the details of your project and get assurance that your vision complies with the Community Wide Standards and Covenants for the subdivision.

The form you need to complete is available for download at the bottom of this page and is fairly straightforward. From a logistics perspective, the form gathers information about you, your contractor, and the proposed timeline for the project. Please make sure you have all of this information before submitting the Architectural Review Application Form.

Then, it gets into more details about your specific project to get an idea of what you’re looking to accomplish. You will need to define the type of project you’re proposing, which can be one or more of the following:

  • Exterior Painting
  • Driveway
  • Pool/Spa
  • Landscaping
  • Roof Replacement
  • Satellite/Antenna
  • Construction (Remodeling)
  • Deck/Patio
  • Shed/Greenhouse
  • Construction (Additions)
  • Play Equipment
  • Arbor/Overhang
  • Other

If you choose “other,” you’ll have the opportunity to define your own category.

You will also need to include a brief written description, where you can explain exactly what you’re hoping to do. As a separate section, you will be asked to lay out the materials and paint colors you plan to use, so that should not be included in your brief description.

Finally, you must attach any documentation you have related to your proposed project. The site plan should include all measurements, materials, colors, etc. If you do not submit all the required documents, your application will likely not be approved.

If you have any questions about the form, don’t hesitate to reach out to the Board of Directors at ddhoa@douglasdowns.com for assistance.
